Hello There

Well he's gone again.

...has been for 2 months, don't know why I waited so long to come back.
This is not a only write when he's deployed blog!!
I will try my best to blog more even when he is here.

Favorite Pieces

Monday was pretty busy..I took Henry to have his haircut and he looks so handsome! It did take 4 hours and I don't know why..I usually cut his hair in the backyard and it's takes an hour to bathe, cut, trim,blow dry, and brush. If you know the answer just let me in on it! I found pillows for our new couch too! They're cute and the lady gave me her discount so it only cost 18 dollars which I know the hubby will love. It's odd that people think I'm rich just because of my purse and clothes from Korea that may or may not be the real product. Today I received a hand written note from Nordstroms thanking me for shopping with them.. hmmm, but I'm not complaining :] If anyone asks I'm happy to tell them my things are form Korea!

Monday we also went to H Mart which was awesome and I want to go back soon! It's basically Korea ville with all the shops, food, and market. My mom and I had bulgogi and I went home with chilsung cider and yaki mandoo :] I didn't take pictures because my camera needed to be charged and I left straight from picking up the pooch. Next time there will be pictures..I promise!

I made enchilada's again..and now I have a recipe for rice which I am eager to try out! Thanks Mom in law! Her rice is so Delicious you could eat it forever and still want more. Brought the food to work today and the coworkers loved it..thank goodness. My day was pretty busy too and had done some fun hair. After work my cousin stopped by to drop off my San Disk and it was nice to visit. He's getting married in July and I can't wait!

Tomorrow I'm having my roots done in the morning because this weekend I'm going to Abilene! Visiting our apartment which they should be finishing building, looking around town, and OH finding my future job! I have to put my portfolio together and I will start and finish it tomorrow. Hope it's good enough a lot of my favorite pieces are not in there..ahem my clients. I started taking pictures a few weeks ago and haven't seen everyone.Drew is almost home and I can't wait! Just counting the days now..60+ woo hoo!

Jot Down Anything

I always wait until the very end of the day to write in my blog, that way I can write about everything that happened. I've been waiting too late and falling asleep before I can jot down anything. New game plan is to post after work/dinner. Now that we have that figured out..haha moving along. Today was Valentine's Day woo hoo..my hubby was gone again, but did send me the best gifts ever! (check out the pictures below)

Yesterday I bought a Snuggie, I have to say it's the best thing ever! It's a blanket with sleeves..haha but it's also a robe turned backwards. I did save 5 dollars and it came with the free reading light. :] My boss also broke his hand when he tripped over the basketball goal we gave him :[ That's not a good thing to break when you're a barber. Hope it heals soon because he refuses to wear a cast! Here was my view as I left the parking lot.

Sugar & Spice

Today was just so exciting...I'm being a little sarcastic here. Went to work and felt this awful pain in my side to where I couldn't even stand. Went to the doctor, but of course the Dr. isn't in on Thursday afternoons..(what?) yes! I ended up in the ER and left with a new kidney stone :[ I have had kidney stones since October and I can't wait until they are gone for good! Later I went back to work to do a color and 3 more cuts in a few hours and off to home.

I gave our old basketball post to my boss for his son, and Travis was beyond excited :] We finally figured out how to cram it in the SUV and I ran inside to see what was in the box my husband sent me! It was my Valentine's gift and the gifts are beautiful!!!!! Drew gave me a very nice box with silver Korean spoons and chopsticks with an ornate design at the bottom of each utensil!! ...and a bbbbbbeautiful black mother of pearl jewelry box with love birds on the top and played traditional Korean music. The inside is luxurious with red velvet and the outside has an unusual lock where you put the key all the way through the middle and twist :] I love them..a lot he's the best husband in the world...everr!

I also received two cars this year!! One was full of sugar and the other full of spice :]

Today was my coworkers birthday! I absolutely love birthdays and eating cake! What else happened today..my no show color that I was excited about..and my dad brought fried chicken home for dinner yummy :] I have an appointment early in the morning and am ohh so tired. Wish You Were Here

Ello Mates


Coming to you live from Dallas :] Today I sent off Drew's Love Box! I'm very excited for him to open it up!!! It's filled with snacks, baked cookies and brownies, books&cd's, and other things I cannot say until he opens it up :] After that I went to the furniture store to make a payment, I can't wait until we own our furniture and decorate the apartment! 70ish more days and he'll be mine! Also went to the bank and over to the Verizon store to check out phones. Drew and I need our own plan and will probably get the blackberry storm :] Verizon has a sale buy one get one free until March..it's $199 but it does everything and more.


Here are my outfits I bought for the job interviews..not really worn together..I just threw it all on. Especially the shirt under the sweater..haha. I'm some what pasty due to the winter please ignore skin tone!

I made enchilada's for dinner..practicing for when the man's home! I made 3 pans MMMMM.
I still need a good recipe for rice :/ any suggestions? I have to ask Grandma Tula <3.I'm off to scrub pots and pans..wish you were here! Kate E. Did

whew! Another Saturday over and all has gone smoothly :] I really could dedicate this blog to the nightmares and happiness of a hairstylists daily life. Today I had 3 color & cut clients, 3 men's haircuts, 1 shampoo and style and 2 women's cuts. I love busy days and being able to be creative! Next time you have your hair done..tell your stylist she can do whatever she wants, it's ultimately what we want to hear :]

I've been busy baking cookies and trying to keep Henry away! He loves anything that he shouldn't have or eat...especially cookies :[ Chocolate chip is the name of the game because they are Drew's favorite. I'm really, really..no really..excited about one of the gifts I found today! It's more of a family joke, but it will put a smile his face :] He reads my blog too bad I can't post..

Busy Busy

Busy busy with clients..taking pictures for my portfolio and getting ready for job searching. Finished my resume and bought cute interview outfits at Nordstroms : pictures will come!!

As I said before, the shop was broken into and a couple of others on our shopping strip. Some punk kid.. :[ still need clippers and still inhaling powder. Never shoot an extinguisher just for..OH..fun.

The powder is so fine and when you try to sweep, a cloud of dust arises. It took all day to clean the surface and we still have to vacuum the walls and strip the floor of build up..ewww.

Here is the break area..you can clearly see the bottom of the table has not been touched yet, but everything else had already been swept at least once! Those poor couches :[

..and the bathroom..everything had to go! The toilet paper and all. He broke the cabinets too only to find cleaning supplies..DUH! what else would be locked up in the bathroom?

Hours of Cleaning

I have not posted the last few days, but I have been rather busy working 11 hour days and crashing. So many things have happend and I have pictures for everything of course! Today some punk kid broke into the shop! So many hours of cleaning..the only thing he stole from me were clippers :[ Off to buy new spiffy ones.

Well I'll tell you all about it tomorrow! I'm exhausted and going to sleep..my body has powder filtering through it..ACHOO! and goodnght!

Super Bowl Sunday! My husband and I were on the phone together all during the game, but in Korea it's Super Bowl Monday! I was rooting for the cardinals and Drew was neutral..I guess we both lost :[ Funny thing was..we had a 10 second delay so Drew would say any facts or any plays coming that they were talking about! You had to be there :] While I was "watching" the game..I started on my John Wayne portrait..still in the works, but should be done soon!

I generally do not do chain letters, but since it was a slow day, here you go! I tag anyone and everyone who reads this blog. This is 25 things you didn't know about me!

1. My favorite color is green.

The Carlton Dance!!!


Saturdays are always fun and today I did a whole family going to see their son graduate from army basic training! They are so excited to see him, glad I'm through with that chapter of my life..moving on please. I had left over chili's mini burgers for lunch..MmM delicious!....and snapping more pictures for my portfolio! I'm excited to put it together and send out my resume for the new job.

I usually end up with the oddest clients...a lady came in yesterday and only spoke Bengali..total communication failure! Her sister called and made an appointment for her for today to have her hair colored blonde and for a haircut. Of course..no show! I'm just the positive attracting the negative..Well here are pictures of what I bought yesterday: 2 picture frames, a red bottle, a decorative V, and an art portfolio.

Covered Raisins

Short post today, it's 11:15pm and I have to get up early for a full day of work. Yes, it's like a Thursday for me..no celebrating the weekend 'till Saturday night! Today was pretty busy with work and shopping. I went to Hobby Lobby and Hallmark..oh how I do love crafty shopping..or is it craftily shopping? Either way I spent money and will show you my buys through pictures tomorrow :]



I did buy chocolate covered raisins..they are the best MmMmmmm

Stairway to Heaven

Hello fellow bloggers..

Andrew called this morning, as usual. We talked for a bit and Drew said he would call me back in 15 mins so I could sleep in :] awwwe what a wonderful husband! Talking a bit more...and we hung up realizing I was going to run late for work. I really think the greeting card company should come up with >the stay at home and talk to your husband all day< holiday!

Slow day..lot's of Court t.v... A coworker did bring in homemade chili for lunch which tasted amazing! Especially on a cold day..well, cold for Texas. Thanks to her husband who is very good at cooking and baking! I'm thinking about making something easy to bring Saturday, but by the looks of my cooking maybe I should rethink it. Here is a picture of my dinner..chocolate chip pancakes..yummy! I added a little too much water and ended up with flatcakes :[ Sorry Andrew I'm still learning, but I can make a mean bowl of cereal!

At least they tasted like Heaven right?

Evening wrapped up with a relaxing bubble bath, I love using the gifts friends give me with lotions, scrubs, and bath salts. You have to pamper yourself at LEAST once a week! This princess just prefers to do it every night :] Guilty pictures of Henry coming up!

Ice Ice Baby

My alarm didn't go off today..I slept in an extra 40 minutes, luckily we were iced in and my boss gave me the day off :] Knowing Texas weather I went outside right away to take pictures before it melted! ENJOY


Henry loved being outside in the cold and hearing the crunching of each step!




Homemade chicken noodle soup and cornbread ..compliments of mom!

We gave Henry a bath today, he really needed it and has been curled up asleep ever since, what a rough day haha. He needs his haircut too, but most likely it will be next week when it warms up a bit. We clipper him in our backyard :] Before's and After's are a must...I'll keep you posted!

I'm still working on Andrew's love box, I wish I could fit, but it just doesn't close right :] It will be sent off next week! I'm also starting on my Uncle's birthday present, it will be a pencil drawing of John Wayne! His birthday isn't till' March and if I don't start now it may never get done. Short post, but lots of pictures..good enough, yes?

Hair Drama

Icy roads in Dallas, Texas and the town shuts down when it's 31 degrees! I went to work this morning and turned the heater up as I was wearing four shirts, oh the luxury. Here is a lesson for anyone who has their hair done: DO NOT be late..you throw off their whole schedule. DO NOT cancel 10 minutes before the appointment..because we can put someone else in your place! DO NOT expect me to go out of my way staying hours after work, ordering lunch, or driving you home. It's not going to happen if it's expected..only if I offer and have the time!

Here is a picture of client that was suppose to come at 3pm Sat. for a color which I blocked out 2hrs for. The same client who called 10 minutes before the appt to call and say she would be there at 5:30pm (I do get off at 5) no questions asked. I told her no later than 5:30 because I would be alone at the salon and would probably be finished at 7:30pm. She calls again at 5:30 on the dot to say "oh honey, it will be another 15 to 30 minutes" I said no! We can reschedule for next week and she starts to break down and "cry" for the appointment because it's her birthday next week. Well I stayed..ugh...6:15 still not there. I closed up and left her a note on the door.

Hoping I wouldn't have to see her, she calls bright and early this morning for an appointment at 1:30. Reluctantly I agree and wait for her..she shows up 10 Min's early and that's a good sign, but she also brought her 4 yr old daughter. PLEASE if you are going to bring your child have someone with you to supervise!!!! She was into everything the chemicals, chairs, and drawers. My client never told her ONCE to sit down and watch TV or color. I start coloring her hair and she calls her husband, her ex, her mother, her sister, a hair school!!!, and whoever else and puts them all on speaker phone. PLEASE PLEASE NO PHONE CALLS during your appointment.


I finish her hair and she begs for me to do her daughter's...ok fine extra bucks no problem. This little girl is cute and has a long ponytail. The mother said she never wanted to brush her girl's hair again and wanted me to shave it down and make it spiky on top. My mouthed dropped and we compromised on a cute bob..after we were finished she said ahww..shorter shorter..so we did. I don't think it's as pretty, but at least she won't have to "brush it". She told me she was going next door as we were blow drying the daughters hair. OK I am NOT a BABYSITTER!! She didn't come back for another 45minutes. So a 2 hr appointment turned into a 4 hr appointment.

Love Box

Mondays are my day off and I usually spend them running errands, but today I visited a friend of mine who is a hair stylist as well. She washed and blow dried my hair which felt awesome, I wish I had someone else to do my hair everyday!! We chatted for a few hours and went on our way. On my way back home I stopped to pick up something to put in my husband's love box. I can't tell you allll the details we're blog buddies too! But soon I will be sending him a care package and I'm so excited :]

Tonight I made enchilada's that would make Andrew proud, they're almost as good as Grandma's! I said almost... I'm bringing the leftovers to work tomorrow and will take pictures. What would a blog be without pictures? haha

Making Memories

I'm going to start from the beginning and give you a glimpse into our background. Andrew (my husband) and I met when we were 14 through a mutual friend during spring break. We went to the movies and have not been separated since! We went to the same high school, worked at the same job, and spent every day laughing and making memories.

Drew joined the Air Force in December of 2007, and his job is in personnel. During Tech School in February he was told he would be on a remote tour to Korea for one year. That means unaccompanied!! We were planning to be married January 2009 and were looking at venues before he left for school. Little did we know we would be married March 22, 2008! It's almost been a year and we planned the wedding in three weeks with help from my mom :]

I visited Drew when he was in Korea for 6 weeks and I would go back in a heartbeat if I could. It was absolutely beautiful and was very different from anything I had been use to. The hubby was also here for Christmas this year for three weeks!! Last year he was in Basic Training and I didn't even have a phone call :[ While he was here we went to the Dallas Symphony, out to a really nice restaurant with him in his blues, and a friend gave us a night at the Hilton!
There is so much to tell about our whole journey and I can't tell you everything in one sitting. I will keep you posted and also rewind to our experiences. Thanks for reading and now I'm off to eat Bertolli! Bon Appetit :]
